Hello, as the title states, what is the best method on detailing rotors? Especially the painted black part. thanks!
Any particular 'bike ? ?
My 2000 Dark 900 came with gold carriers - which I painted black, looks much better IMHO
I use rubbing alcohol after a soap bath. Don't buy any expensive shit, it's useless in my experience
F you're gonna go to town on the rotors, remove the calipers so you can't contaminate the pads. Then wash any way you want. Finally, use some isopropyl alcohol to wipe down the braking surface, with a clean rag. This is best for cleaning any metal rotors (mountain bike, motorbike, car), as it will clean the surface of contaminants, and excess will evaporate away. Standard cleaning products will transfer to the brake pads and contaminate them, resulting in poor (dangerous) performance.

Order the buttons from TOPparts.com. Drill the old ones out, repaint the carriers, rinse lather & repeat as necessary.
