FP2:

Pedro crashes because of blown fork seal... possibly with a heel fracture.  I'm starting to feel bad for Pedro at this point.

New Ducs were also out there.

New Ducs were also out there.
Neither Dovi or the Maniac used the new bike in FP2.

Ciabatti said the choice of which bike to use would be left up to the riders.

Interesting, but not exciting. That guy rides smooth. It was his day over MM today.

Maniac looked very upset talking to the crew chief after entering the pit garage. He was quite "animated" ;D.
Any clues?

Engine problems that were a mistake... apparently they lost a few mph top end.

Battle between Pedrosa and Iaonne was awesome.  [clap]

Not the most exciting race, but JLo is a machine. Impressive.

The Iannone/Pedro battle was pretty good.  [thumbsup]

is it a safe assumption to say JLo is a more technical rider where as MM is more instinctive?

If JLo carries on like this it's going to be that more of a challenge for VR, but then VR is the veteran, but over ten seconds behind JLo? ouch!

JL gets off the line really well.  Not just this race but Indy too, along with a few other ones earlier this season (I forget which).  Someone test that guy for HGH or antler juice or something.

(Then, when you find something, give it to Rossi.)   ;D

I'd agree, JLO is more technical and MM more instinctive.

JLo's style is based on corner speed.
As long as he's got the setup 99% nailed and he's got clear track to run on, he's very hard to stay with.
That style can get compromised if he's got to battle wheel to wheel, he runs his big sweeping lines and then the other guy runs it up the inside and he can't keep the corner speed.
He's very good at pushing the bike right to the razor's edge and keeping it there consistently.
If he can't get the setup right, he's screwed.

JLo has a scalpel, Rossi a Bowie knife, MM has a machete, and Pedrosa has a dodgy switchblade.
All lethal but dependent on circumstances.

Thanks. He was pretty full on at the crew chief.
I thought he had good pace and it may have cost him a podium in his mind. I wonder how early the stacks seized?

Good description of riding styles.

At track days I wield a rubber chicken.

I looked at the laptime sheet, Iannone was hovering at 1:57 flats 'til lap 11, then lost a half second and never found it again.

Most everyone else lost  2-3 tenths gradually in the middle.

Eh, trackdays have no prize money or trophies.  :-\

I see the nicknames to be:

Rossi: The Doctor
Lorenzo: The Surgeon
Marquez: The Psycho

And...

Pedrosa: The Victim

I missed Cal's crash because I was fast forwarding the whole time to avoid falling asleep.

BTW, the fight was between Dovi and the Turd, not Iannone.

Iannone had the tech issues. Apparently he felt that he could have caught Rossi.

I did see Maverick's crash, front just folded. He was also up there fighting for 8th or 9th IIRC.
