Title: Howdy from Boston
Post by: blalor on September 19, 2015, 03:51:23 AM
Hey all.  My name's Brian.  I'm just North of Boston in Medford.  No bikes currently in the stable, but I've been lusting after a Monster since I started riding on the street in 2000 or so.  My first bike was a 1980 CB400T (that I actually owned twice) and a 2000 SV650 that I really liked.  Then I got into cars; a couple of R53 MINIs ('05, '06), a couple of BMWs ('91 E30, '04 E46) and a BRZ briefly.  I still have the E46 and an R53.  I sold the SV in '06 (as much fun as the MINI with a smaller chance of falling off).  I do a little amateur racing (24 Hours of LeMons, AER) and track days mostly with the local BMW clubs.

I'm currently shopping for a Monster and I think I've homed in on the S2R800; just looking for the right one, now!

Welcome aboard Brian [thumbsup]

Boston, eh?  Be careful of the girl in the red Pontiac when riding your future Monster.

Boston.... a lot like Melbourne.  Especially the feral driving  [laugh].

I've been out of town for a week; what's this reference to?

One of the first LeMons races I went to had an award for the "Worst Driving (Even By Boston Standards)".  Maybe it's because the smart people take public transit? ;)

Welcome to the board!

I learned to drive in Boston as a teenager, and the Vince Lombardi school of driving has served me well for 30 years!

Make sure and check in with the NEMHA locals group if you are interested in meeting other local riders in New England.

Mass. death on wheels.  You had to be there  ;)

Scary thing is that she's out there... somewhere in your neck o' the woods  :-\

Ride safe  [thumbsup]

2007 S2R 1000.  13k miles, immaculate condition.  The previous (and only) owner traded it in on a Harley. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's had its first service (early) at 6k, so it's about due for the 2nd, which I'll tackle this winter.  Thankfully the tank is un-swollen, so hopefully with a bit of Caswell I'll be able to keep it that way.

Still another couple of days before I'll be able to pick up my new gear and plates, but right now the forecast is rain straight through the weekend.  This might just kill me!

Hello from Quincy! I bought a '06 S2R1000 last December and put about 5000 miles on this season already. Loving it. My last bike was a RC51. The Monster is definately more fun! Hope to see you around town!
