Title: 1200S torque for oil cooler mount bolts (ordered an EP Engine Guard)
Post by: nickbee on September 23, 2015, 07:59:17 PM
I just ordered an EP engine guard. There are no instructions on the web site but it looks like it just bolts in where the two oil mount bolts go into the valve cover. Does anyone know the torque spec on these?

THANKS!

Not too tight, but just tight enough.

I was curious and looked at the shop manual and could not see that the oil cooler attaches to the valve cover on a 1200.

To alleviate my confusion could you post a pic, or reference which page of the EP instructions for the fastener in question?

Or, just look at any metric torque chart for the fastener size and pitch in question.

Or, just do as Nibor suggested.....so long as you are not a hammer and tong type mechanic.  ;D
