Title: rotor bolt torque (flyweel)
Post by: ducatigirl100 on October 02, 2015, 03:18:02 PM
Hi I' m curently working  on a 2007 s4r monster whit a testastretta engine .

I've put the flange back on the flyweel but I still have to bolt the rotor to the flyweel....

the dealer told me those bolts where torque at 13 Nm

Seriously !!!!! Graded bolt that need red locktite...... and only 13Nm  .... I serriously doubt that !!! [coffee]

To my evaluation it sould be aroud at least 70Nm

Does someone here as the torque for these bolts .... ???

yes, that is the correct torque, now, before doing that, go to dealer and get the upgraded bolts with  hexagonal heads instead of the T20 torx bolts you have  . . . 77253330ZF  cost should be arund $1.07ea*8

flywheel nut   270N\m with Loctite 128455 . . .

I got my source  ;D

follow the diagram you have . . .

19 goes on 18 and 17 gives them space on large gear

Am I seeing this correctly? Part #17 (thin washer) does not fit inboard of the roller bearing. I re-assembled mine in this manner (after replacing the starter clutch spring) and it made a sickening screeching sound upon start up. When I disassembled it again I could see that the washer was torn up.
Anyone else done this recently? ???

Can you post a pic of the washer?

The snout of bushing #18 is supposed to go through the center hole of #17.

Standard method of assembly employs some grease to 'stick' #18 in position, so it doesn't slip down and get pinched between the snout of #18 and the timing gear.

The question never was answered about the red loctite. From what I've used it for, it's not about how hard a bolt gets torqued. It's so it doesn't break loose and back out.

The (18) goes thru the  washer (17) its a perfect fit . I've used some bearing greasse to center the washer . After that, i've put  the (18)+ (19) ...  [bow_down]

I've put a little bit more bearing grease to show where it goes..... I clean the ole thing up after  [thumbsup]
