Title: Solved - Stripped head on allen bolt that holds rotor to flywheel
Post by: Goggles Pizano on October 03, 2015, 12:48:58 PM
[bang] Title says it all.  Any ideas how to get this thing out?

Gave up, brought the flywheel to the dealer to figure out.

I use a small punch, stick it in the hole and give it a couple smacks with a hammer.
That generally breaks the loctite loose enough to get 'em out.

I will use Torx drivers as E-Z outs, they work well for that on stripped allens.

This is the best method I've found. Drive a torx bit that's just slightly larger than the allen key into the head of the screw and back it out.

After doing what Speeddog said, go to dealer and get the upgraded bolts with  hexagonal heads instead of the T20 torx bolts you have  . . . 77253330ZF  cost should be arund $1.07ea*8

Just had a stripped bolt and was scratching my head. Searched the forum, found this thread, and you guys saved my bacon again.

Thanks!
