Title: Your thoughts on that featured Monster?
Post by: Smitch on July 16, 2008, 03:02:06 PM
Honestly, it's got some trick bits on it.

BUT IT HAS NO TAIL!

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I'm jealous that I don't have the skill or balls to chop my tail like that.  Love the bike, one of kind.  [thumbsup]

I think I'm with you Smitch, Some of it looks cool but he went a little too far on the tail chop.
Starting to look a little ghetto if you ask me. [laugh]

I thought this picture was cool:

But, I agree with everyone else that the tail chop went a bit too far...the rear tire looks out of place now.

I think it's cool as hell. I'd do that myself if it wsn't for the wife needing a spot..... that said if at a future date I pick up another bike, I may do something similar. I like it!  [thumbsup]

I agree Randimus, it needs to have a rider on it ALWAYS.  Never get off, NEVER.

WDB, you're far more progressive and brave than I.  Who's that famous old artist/motorcycle guy they named a clothing line after?   Von Dutch.  He would've liked you more than me.  And this Monster too.

You gotta show the man respect for customizing the bike his own way. [thumbsup]

I like the tail chop even if it is a little extreme.

The front fender is super cool, I'm thinking of gettting a SB fender and sculpting it myself...  [beer]

The real definition of a "Chop"per. Better than the stuff coming from OCC and the like, but still not my style.

I hate those trailer queen bikes, if I was looking for something "classic" I want it to be old-school

As to the featured bike just not real sure how I feel about it

I agree, he did cut the tail too short for my taste, but it is not my bike.  He can do with it what he wants.

There are a lot of other very cool bits on the bike.

Others put too much tail on their bikes, so in the end, it all balances out.

The point here is that there are people putting a lot of work into their bikes to make them uniquely theirs.

What would the world be like if we all left our bikes stock?

Absolutely, it's a free country and I'm glad we all have different tastes.  I'm also glad though we can respectfully say "That's not my taste" instead of just pretend everything is the coolest bike you've ever seen.

My soapbox just collapsed!

+1 Smitch.  Creative, but in my opinion, the chop lost the flow of the bike.  Perhaps the bike was a wreck and he had to take that part of the frame off?

No it was in mint before he made it an art piece. [thumbsup]

That takes big ones, I like his style.... either that or he kept cutting them unevenly and by the time he got it right he was down to nubs....  ;D
