i'm halfway through renewing the timing belts all was going well until the gorgeous trellis frame became a pain in the ass :(
i thought i'd done all my homework, watched multiple you tubes and read how-to's etc but just found that no-one mentions that with the engine 'in the frame' one of the vertical cylinder belt tensioner bolts is obstructed by a frame member. i'm talking about the pivot bolt, not the eccentric adjuster bolt, which i found to be pretty loose, definitely not 20ftlb
these are done up to 20ftlb / 27knm, this is a walk in the park for the horizontal cylinder however the vertical one is almost impossible due to insufficient access for my allen key [bang]
is there trick to this i am unaware of ?
i'm gonna have to renew the horizontal belt and have a second attempt another day :(
This is the sort of allen driver I use:
