Hi...
So I've been talking about redoing my S2R which keeps getting hit in http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=71676.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=71676.0).
The shop ordered the tank and I though I had someone here who could help me with it but it fell through. Can anyone advise me what to do? I don't want to throw this new tank on the bike and have the same expansion issue that happend to the one that I am replacing.
A word about me:
I'm fairly busy.. don't have many tools/time/money. But am willing to pay for work to be done if it will prolong something/add value. The shop is getting antsy with me because I was supposed to send them an address to send the tank. I suppose I could coat it myself, but I don't want to go and spend hundreds of dollar on equipment I'm only going to use once/don't know how to use anyway. :)
Suggestions?
And no.. I can't get a metal tank. I paid over $1K for the replacement (new) tank for this bike.
Thank you! :)
The shop you ordered through won't coat it for you?
its really easy to coat yourself ..about $30 in caswell and just about an hour of your time

No.. They sell bikes and do repairs. This is kinda special. Not something they do.
What about ducpainter (or some odd name) you know the moderator?
There is supposed to be someone in Cali. (Jcpak ?) there is also plenty of small shops around the country (often paint shops) that will fix you up. shipping will add enough to the cost so I would try and find someone locally. This has become such an issue that I would have my tank coated with caswell before using it, no interest in playing the game of plastic tank roulette.
I didn't have time or space when I had mine done. Cost me $300.

I reached out to someone on here. I guess they are too busy. Trying to find someone else.
I've got a shop out here in SoCal that I use, all they do is clean and line tanks.
Shipping cost will drive the bill up over what you likely could get locally.
