Title: Upgrading fork internals-need archive help
Post by: ST2rider on February 01, 2016, 05:22:21 PM
Hey all. A couple of years ago I ran across a thread on here about how the internals of the 50/54mm Showa forks are unlike any other Showas in terms of how the rebound and compression damping function. The thread was started by a member called MonsterHPD and the thread was Showa Monster front forks. The problem is the images in the thread have gone. I was hoping someone would have saved copies of those pics or the pdf as I was hoping to show my suspension tech what I found regarding the forks.
I`ve sent a message to the member but nothing yet.

Thanks for the replies. This was actually the thread I was interested in

But luckily MonsterHPD had PM`d me and I have the info. Looks like I won`t be going Ktech but more GSXR.

Hi,  glad to have read this, plus the links too.
I'm just in this hole too, where I cant get the monster to handle. Its just too damn hard no matter what settings.

with the standard showas S4 wont handle as the rebound circuit is a fake and its too hard ,, I replacxed my forks with a set from a 996 which have a proper rebound circuit  and ktech revalve and lighter springs 7.5w ,, very similar to HPDs mods of standard forks ,, result excellent handling now and comfort too,
