"The Daytona Rising project will change all that. Steel construction began in October 2013 and will continue right through this year's Feb. 23 Daytona 500 and on until January 2016. The upgrades will redo the front stretch stands, putting in 101,000 new seats and raising the entire structure to 146 feet tall with three concourse levels. The ground floor will turn into a true service level, with the first main concourse rising 35 feet above the ground, fed by more than 40 escalators that account for 85-stories-worth of moving stairs. Five "injectors" (a Daytona-branded word for entrances) will funnel fans onto the lower concourse and the new technology-infused "neighborhoods" of amenities on the three levels, which feature new concessions, activities, and video.
