Symptoms -
Came out to start bike after it had been sitting for about an hour. Bike fires up immediately, kickstand up, put bike in first, bike cuts off. Kickstand back down, bike back in neutral, turn bike off, pull key out.
2nd Try -- key in, start bike, fires up. kickstand up, bike still on. Put bike in gear, bike turns off.
3rd Try -- Key in, start bike, fires up. Kickstand up, bike still on. Put bike in first, bike stays on. Pull away, accelerates as expected. 2 minutes into ride, bike dies. Pull over. Pull seat off, check battery connections to see if it might be loose. All tight and correct. Check fuses, all looks good there too.
4th Try -- Bike fires up, kickstand up, bike still On, first gear, bike still on pulling away, bike operates as expected.
Get bike home.
Let it sit for a bit. Go back down and fire it up to see what the issue might be, bike starts as expected, kickstand up, bike still on, put bike in first gear, bike dies.
Correct in assuming that it's likely the kickstand relay since everything else seems to be working properly?
Thanks Forum Gods.....
sounds like a sticking or bad switch. Test it by jumping it at the connector. if it fixes it I would fix or replace the switch I do not recommend you ride with no sidestand switch on the bike I have seen too many people get hurt.
To jump the switch use a paper clip at the harness side of the connector, you will see there are only two wires, jump them (key off) wrap any exposed jumper so it cannot short out . This is just to test the switch if you find the problem is solved you then should replace or repair your switch.
Had to do this (paper clip), until my new switch arrived. I keep the modified cut off connector in my tool kit as a handy home made bypass switch. I did ride off twice with the stand half down, so be careful.

I have completed my ozzie transition. Got everything sorted. Kickstand wire broke at the stand. Just have to remember to kick it up before takeoff....
