Rea was untouchable. He couldn't break away but he road with precision.

Great race the whole way through.

I was hoping Nicky could show up better than that. He hung with the front pack for a while

Nicky had a better showing in race two.  I think he'll be in the mix and be on the podium a few times this year.  I'm not really up to date on the quality of machinery but the CBR hasn't been the sharpest tool so Nicky will have to ride the crap out of it.  Rea's superhero showing this year and last on the Ninja would lend some evidence to the CBRs shortcomings.

Chaz and the Duc looked good in both races, just needs to keep the shiny side up!

Watching it now. But I must say, after watching the WorldSuperSport race, the big boys (WSBK) seem a bit dull...  Definitely plan to pay more attention to WSS this year.  Not sure if they're always this action packed but it's a nice mix of moto3 and BSB.    Removing the electronics seems to always reward the spectator!

It doesn't look like the Hondas are suffering as hard this year....

van der Mark was doing ok and Nicky so close so soon  [thumbsup]

I wonder if the new rules make the 'old' Fireblade more competitive?

Hayden had front tire problems in race 1, that's why he dropped back. Much better race 2. The Hondas look better, but still too early to tell, as PI is an odd track.

Rea looks tough, as expected. Sykes is still killing his tires. Chaz looks good on the Duc, but has to try too hard to beat Rea.

WSS was a crazy race! PJ looked great, but apparently had bike problems. Any race that Sofuoglu crashes is a good one.  ;D

The Honda is better, but still far from anything that will be consistently winning. The Kawi is still the best bike with arguably the best rider with Rea. Nicky has the potential to be the best Honda rider and hopefully he'll get a real bike next year.

Everybody says the Panigales are really hot.

As much as I like Rea and Sykes... having these guys this dominant during the series is making the races a bit meh for me.

I hate it when guys crash, but that's been the most exciting part lately.

I remember a few years ago we tuned into WSBK because that's were the real racing was. Now, MotoGP is by far the more exciting series.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the left pipe goes to the horizontal cylinder and is longer, therefore requiring a larger pipe to maintain the same back-pressure as the shorter right side pipe coming from the vertical cylinder.

Although, I also see what appears to be an electronic flapper on the left exhaust, so it could just use the right side pipe for lower engine loads and then open to the left on higher RPM's (and the pipes are actually joined). Might smooth out the power curve and help with the stability of the bike compared to the stock style exhaust they used to run under the bike.

OR, I could be completely wrong, and the Ducati WSBK engineers who are much smarter than me know what they're doing.

That seems like an awfully good guess; I'd originally thought the carbon fiber contraption on the left pipe was a sensor, but you're right - it's too big & has too much power (or maybe even cable housings) running to it to be that.

I keep waiting on more news about next years Fireblade.  I think Nicky is going to kick some serious butt when that bike gets out.

I did see that Davies won by a good margin, but these are few and far between.

I dunno...Ducati has 5 wins and 10 other podiums in 20 races this year. The Kwak is superior, but I don't think SBK needs shit tires to be interesting.

True, but GP was sucking with the same 4 riders in the top 4 places every weekend.

SBK is better than that even with the Pirellis. Besides, Michelin can't handle both GP and SBK, Bridgestone seems to be done with 2 wheel racing as a single supplier, and Dunlop is pretty heavily invested in GP and other series worldwide. Who do you suggest...Shiko? ;D

Davies did the double at Magny-Cours, outclassing the Kwaks on a drying track in the first race, by choosing the right tire, and beat them in the dry in race 2.

Very nice! He came back from third with only 5 laps left and was able to pass and gap the Kawis

Probably too little, too late, for the championship, but he could take second if he keeps winning and out paces Sykes.

Rea is pretty much in title mode, and as long as he finishes really close to Sykes for the remaining races, the title is his. He probably doesn't care if Chaz beats Tom for second. [evil]

I'm sure Rea is rooting for Chaz

The Kwaks had nothing for him even with his 6th place grid position.

I did  [thumbsup] with a group of friends enjoying a Carlos-breakfast, WSBK live and then MotoGP recorded

Those three Brits and their very well sorted bikes makes it a little underexciting though...

I can't deny that.

Maybe next year with Nicky and Bradl on a new Fireblade, and Melandri back on the Duc it will be better.
