Title: Is there supposed to be a cover over the back of my gauge cluster???
Post by: Charlie98 on March 09, 2016, 07:52:03 PM
RE:  '13 M796 ABS

I pulled my mini fairing off to install a slightly taller Gen-X screen on the Monster... but something hit me after I got everything back together:  is there supposed to be a cover over the rear of the instrument cluster?  I pulled the fairing off and the plug is all right there...

The Gen-X screen isn't quite as tight as the Ducati part... the plug is going to get hosed in a rainstorm.  ...or am I worried about nothing?

On my '11, and the prior years, yes, there is a cover.  When the bike is crated and shipped to the dealer the cover is in place and the dealer removes it and attaches the bikini fairing.  As your (or a) dealer for one, they probably have them laying around.

Yup, dealer should supply it to the original purchaser.

You can buy em on ebay....

Given that... the factory bikini fairing replaces the cover... correct?  ...so it's one or the other?
