Title: Stuttering while riding
Post by: FreakingBike on March 13, 2016, 08:13:37 PM
2002 M750

This is what I mean by stutter: loss of power, decelerate for a moment, then regain power. (feels like no spark for one rotation)

While maintaining a constant throttle, the bike will stutter. It will also stutter and die under soft acceleration, from a stop, killing the bike at stop lights and stop signs.

I have no idea where to begin testing because the bike doesn't stutter while idling.

Any ideas?

Hmmm. If its a sharp stutter of the bike cutting in and out then I would check all your ignition wires including coil wiring, ignition leads, Ignitor box wiring,  plug caps, etc. Also check battery cables for tightness.
Do that first and report back.

If its a blubbering stutter then I might suspect fuel issues. What do your spark plugs say?

Checked my connections at the coils, at the plugs, at the ignition, battery. All seem solid.

I decided to replace my plugs anyway. The old plugs were somewhat gray and yellow (not surprised, I opened the exhaust and haven't re-mapped yet).

I can't seem to replicate the problem after a few test rides. So confused  [bang]

Hopefully just a bad tank of gas.
