Title: High beam problem with S4R
Post by: George S on March 27, 2016, 02:39:55 PM
Hey everyone:

I have a 2004 S4R and my high beam is not working. No mods have been done to the headlight. First I suspected a problem with the bulb, but replacing that did not fix the issue. The high beam does not come on with the switch or when using the trigger for flashing your high beams, but in both cases, the blue high beam indicator on the instrument cluster illuminates. I do not know where to start trouble shooting this problem.

Thanks,
George

p.s. After resolving this issue, I'd like to know what I can do for a brighter head light. I'm not impressed with what's in there now.

After:

I got scared going around a corner in my garage building, thinking a car was coming the other way, that was my first reaction to my new light  http://www.desmoworld.com/shop/ducati-monster/s2r-s4r-s4rs/elektrik/scheinwerfer/scheinwerfer-klarglas-monster.html (http://www.desmoworld.com/shop/ducati-monster/s2r-s4r-s4rs/elektrik/scheinwerfer/scheinwerfer-klarglas-monster.html)

I use a Philips xtreme light bulb, but I'm sure there are others.

There are also threads here about the value of better wiring.

Sorry, I get confused about plus and minus  :P so not much help from me.

You have high beam and passing light on two separate fuses and a working blue dash light, so I'm thinking a simple wire malfunction closer to the headlight. You wouldn't be the first to experience that.

Last page in your Owner's Manual unfold as a larger wiring diagram. Same can be downloaded from Ducati.com
