Hi all, the below link has see through covers (I think for belts - still learning) for ducati monsters, can you get these for an older 1998, 600cc monster?

Likely unobtanium at this point. But you can make some. Plexiglass, wire mesh, there are a ton of options [beer]. Get that dremel yet? If so, time to go to work!!!
Get me Dremel next week woot. Where do you think I can get another set of belt covers that I can tinker with?
ebay is your best bet. Likely pretty cheap.
You could just go full on nekkid like used to do with my S4RS...

What bike do you have?
Koko Killjoy here. ;D Run stock, clear or carbon covers to protect your belts from stones.

That's right. Don't listen.
That's a nice bike too.
I didn't know you were a blonde.
You guys are reckless fellows. [laugh]
Lol, I have a 1998 Monster 600cc. I would put a pic up but I don't know how to operate the text for insetting the pictures.

This ain't Facebook, we spell our words here. :D ;)
Thank you guys for having me on the forum
Man, i've been tempted to pull the belt covers off my bike since the day I got it - what's the real danger besides exposure to the elements causing the belts to degrade more quickly, if that's even a thing?
would it be a stone or something getting in there? are there bearings that would wear more quickly?
Rusty bearings collapsing or stones pinching the belts. Rare but serious. If you live where there is lots of rain and crap on the roads then I would leave them covered.
Had mine off for about 5 years now ..no issues at all
Don't listen them wild and reckless rapscallions! ;D
Uncovered seems like asking for trouble...
I can't even guess the amount of miles on my buddies bike running open belts with no issues.

Looks great. Normally prefer low pipies but that works. I note the backing for the belt covers are also removed. If something went in it has more chance of getting out again which is good.
Road builders here leave the top layer of gravel for vehicles to press in. Its outrageous road users do the last bit of work pressing in the top layer at the expense of safety.
Yeah, don't do it there. ;) Oh, and those are low pipes with a slight mod.
The pipes sweep up like a 851/888sp.

True, but by no means ugly ass high pipes. ;)

Some of us like the high pipes!
seriously though - I'm in New Jersey and we're not exactly known for our great weather or superior road conditions - I'd ben interested to know where your buddy lives! the open belts still seems like a roll of the dice to me :o
Folks all over this forum from different states run em that way. I'm in AL, he's in GA.

I ran open belts in Washington, D.C. and have taken them through some serious rain and other sorts of not so great conditions. Belts have always held up and never had an issue. Have even run open clutch, etc.....Never a problem there.
