Title: 01 M750 air box modification
Post by: scaudill on April 29, 2016, 05:23:59 AM
I plan to modify my air box for easier access to carbs for changing jets.  I would prefer the coils stay with the battery, but it looks like that's not possible.  Maybe fabricate something to support coils.
Anyone have suggestions?  My bike had pods when I got it and they caught on fire, so I'll stay with std air box.

There's no easy way to access carb jets with an airbox, just a way to make airbox removal easier and that's by seperating the airbox from the battery box. They can be linked by an easy release bracket if the battery is heavy enough to need stabilizing. Battery section comes off first then the airbox removal is easier (or rather, less difficult).
Pods still give the best access. I can assure you that airboxes are also quite flammable under the right circumstances.
