Hi everybody,
I'm new in this forum so let me introduce myself shortly.
I'm a 22 yo student, living in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I own a Ducati Monster S4 since november 2015.
I'm looking for some tech support. Im quite handy and understand practical things quite fast, yet i'm not that experienced with mechanics (I did do an engine swap with an Yamaha FZS600 fazer before)
anyways, my coating of the engine is coming off and it has oxidation on quite some parts. Its not that bad but it does not look very neat. So, i want to paint my engine black.
I have read that it is best to drop de engine, including swingarm. This will make enough room to work on the engine. Is this a good way?
and
How and where do i start, what is the best order of removing things from the engine etc?
Will sandpaper work to remove the original coating?
About the rest of the paint job; i will read the topics on that. I've seen the topics and i will get my info there so we can stay ontopic here;)
(I have looked around for topics on removal of the engine, and found quite some things. But not something with the swingarm attached and with a watercooled 4V engine)
Thanks!
I would try the Corse Dynamics engine stand from Motowheels. With the motor secure you can work from there.
