Title: S2R1000 - intermittent immobilizer/yellow indicator lamp
Post by: rvajma on June 02, 2016, 10:37:30 AM
So picked up a 2007 S2R1000 and it has been a blast so far.  Different animal entirely from the 01 M750 it replaced.  I am having one issue, but it is sporadic.  The bike starts up and runs fine, but at least once every ride, the yellow immobilizer/engine light comes on for 30-90 seconds and goes out.  When it is on, there is no change in the way the bike rides, sounds, vibrates, accelerates or anything.  The temps are fine, and no error codes come up at any time while riding, or when starting the bike.  Any ideas out there?  Have never had a bike with an ecu, so am not sure if there is a code that can be read on this year and model.

Thanks,
Jeff

There's two yellow lights on the dash, which one is lighting up?

The yellow light with the engine outline on it.  The bottom light on the upper array.

If you don't already have your owners manual you can download it here.

The light you describe is the EOBD light (see page 12 in the manual). The immobilizer light (Amber warning light) is lower near the push buttons. I'm not sure why it would come on mid ride.
