Title: Volar HH Brake Pad Review Brembo
Post by: elvenhome21 on June 06, 2016, 05:20:09 PM
Volar VBP158HH
Fits
Brembo 4 pad calipers

Where to buy
Search term Ducati 749 Biposto
D2Moto on ebay
Or on amazon

Issues with buying
#1 You have to search for a Ducati 749 in order to find these pads. If you search for s4rs, 996, 998 and so on you wont find the HH pads, only the kevlar.
#2 Seller shipped pads out with the wrong weight (he actually sent me 4 sets of pads (16 total) instead of just 2 sets) and came to my door with a $7 fee from snail mail.

My qualifications for review
Rider for 7 years, multiple track days on a S4RS. Many trips to the Dragon and corner carver 80% of the time I am riding.
Ive raced stock cars and road courses for 18 years. With more track time then I can count and more money spent on track days then I want to admit.

Cost
   $34 free shipping

Quality
No complaints yet. So far I only have 400 miles on them but will updat in Aug when I get back from the Dragon.

Grip
More than the Brembo TT2172HH stock pads on S4RS. Almost a bit to much these are very grabby, you have to be very gentle with the lever. I have shorty levers and normally use 1 ½ fingers when braking, with the Volars now I only use one finger and only use the tip of the finger.  I havent noticed any fade or change in grip level with heat. Ill know more  when I go down to the Dragon and really work the brakes hard.

Would I recommend
Heck yeah. For the cost savings of over $100 and to get the same or better grip.

For the long term I would want to know if you experience any squealing or excessive brake dust.

Im going to say no for the dust, and unlikely for squealing. If they do start squealing which I also doubt, all you have to do is take them out and drag them on some concrete to get the glaze off.
