Ive reached the valve clearance shimming stage with the heads from my 1997 M750 (fitted new guides and valves) ... I use 0.004" for intake opener, 0.005" for exhaust opener, and 0.001" for both closers (essentially minimum clearance with no rocker drag on the cam). 0.10mm, 0.13mm, and 0.02mm respectively for you metric folk. :) Title: Re: Valve assembly clearance 1997 M750 ? Title: Re: Valve assembly clearance 1997 M750 ? Post by: EEL on June 30, 2016, 05:03:43 AM When measuring the closer to drag tolerance, rotate the shim to make sure it's clear on all sides. You can have variations. You will find it with no drag on one end and drag on the other.
