Title: front end damage, wheel bearings?
Post by: tbyte on August 04, 2016, 06:20:42 PM
I had a low speed crash now front wheel has cant and almost touches fork.  Had to pull caliper so wheel could turn freely.  Forks look ok but I am no expert.  Pulls a bit at low speed.  How do I proceed?  Pull wheel and check axle and replace bearings?

At the minimum, I'd say your front axle is bent.

You may need to remove the front wheel, axle and forks as a unit due to that.

Also make sure to check that the stop lugs on the steering head haven't been bent/cracked.

Thanks.  Any advice on axle interchangeability?
