Title: Dart Flyscreen, anyone? Post by: cmross13 on August 06, 2016, 03:03:12 AM So a few weeks ago I was trying to track down a discontinued Dart Flyscreen for my '96 M900 project. I emailed Dart about making a brief reproduction of them, and in a nutshell, they told me the Triumph Bonneville T100 kit would work, but possibly might need a little modification. However, before I got that response, I DID find a New Old Stock unit for sale by an eBay.UK seller, and luckily he was willing to ship to USA. I immediately bought it as I didn't know if Dart would reply or what they would say in that reply. I bought a Bonneville kit too ;)
The good news is that both kits are, in fact, about 90% the same. The screens themselves are identical, and the mounting bracket dimensions and mounting holes are the same. There is a little "tooth" on the brackets to keep the screen upright, and the teeth on the Bonneville brackets are maybe 1-2mm higher. This would cause a problem if trying to fit a Monster kit on the Triumph, but not the Bonneville kit on the Monster. I have already swapped the screens on my bike between the two kits, and I even adjusted my screen a little more upright and went for a 100mph blast down the "closed road" and can confirm that it didn't move back any. Summary, if you want a Dart Flyscreen, buy a Triumph Bonneville kit. Preferably the extra one I have ;) Can't upload pics to this site, so pics will follow when I can get them on Photobucket Title: Re: Dart Flyscreen, anyone? Post by: Howie on August 06, 2016, 06:43:43 PM Nice bike! I had a Dart flyscreen on my old 750. Worked much better than one would think. Good to know the Bonnie brackets can work.
Title: Re: Dart Flyscreen, anyone? Post by: cmross13 on August 06, 2016, 06:46:35 PM thanks! i really like the old bike, i just wish it wasn't costing me so much to get it to where it is. its been for sale since March, with no solid bids yet. ive sunk another $1,000 into it over the last two weeks, but cant justify raising my asking price more than $200 :/
