Hello all,
So after being told that my cover won't melt on my pipes... It did. Now I have plastic stuck on my pipe making it extremely ugly and for all I know would be damaging the pipes.
How do I clean it off my pipes?
Also, what kind of metal are the pipes made out of?
Thanks
The pipes are a (not very) stainless steel. You can try oven cleaner, but be careful not to get it on any other parts.
Got some pics of where it's melted on?
Different pipes have different materials.
Thanks all. Here are some more pics.

Directions on how below the linked post in the same thread.
Thanks.
Ok done.
Old school razorblade, maybe...
Razor is going to scratch the pipe. I heard oven cleaner?
No matter what you do, they'll never look right. Send them out to get ceramic coated.

Had a similar issue with some used pipes I bought on e-bay. Tried all the tricks; oven cleaner, brasso, goof-off, scotch-brite pads, etc. No luck. Razor blade wouldn't even work and if it did would've taken days and left many scratches.
Only thing that got it was 3M flexible foam sanding pads and wd-40. Started coarse and finished finer.
Might try a spot that's not visible and see what it looks like before going whole hog. Much easier to do with pipe off, too.
Good luck!
Oven cleaner did remove the remains of a plastic bag on my '01, but Kopf is correct about "never look the same". There was a color difference that did blend over time.
