Title: Greetings from the UK!
Post by: JEZ900ie on November 12, 2016, 12:04:26 PM
Hi to everyone!

I just bought my Ducati last Sunday and am excited to be back on a bike after a couple of years away from riding.

Currently the bike is here in my lounge since a lack of garage or shed makes this a necessity. Still its not all bad - this bike is beautiful to look at!  Its also bloody freezing here, so fiddling about and cleaning is definitely preferable inside in the warm...

Its a 2002, and the previous owner has done a few mods to the engine
•   Engine: Hi-comp JE pistons (11.1),
•   Ported heads (stock valves),
•   VeeTwo cams,
•   MPB collets,
•   Kämna Alu flywheel,
•   Stock W-M 5.9 ECU with adapted map,
•   Wide-ratio gearbox from ST2 (apparently much better for road use???),
•   All ball and roller bearings new less than 37000 km.
•   Dyno print out shows just under 90BHP.

Feedback from previous owner is that the engine tuning work was done at about 20k miles.
All the rolling bearings (crank and g/box shafts) also replaced at 30k mile as a precaution.

Bike: standard suspension apart from linear 8.2N/mm fork springs and newly serviced fork (seals, oil), custom CNC billet 7075 triple clamps, Apex adjustable clip-ons, custom 2-1 exhaust with Silmotor slip-on, custom rear-sets, opened-up airbox lid with washable filter,  almost new Bridgestone S20´s front and rear (a couple of track days use, the road section is almost unused), recent chain and sprockets.

I plan to put it on the road in spring, and probably take a couple of weeks touring in Europe this summer.

Apart from the cam belts, anything that I should get changed or checked, pronto?  Any info always appreciated as I have never owned a Ducati until now.

Previous bikes GT185 / X7 / RD400 / FZ600 / NX650 / T120 / T160.

Welcome [beer].
Sounds like a well developed bike. Good score. [thumbsup]
