Title: Sensor air gap
Post by: Wanwo on July 20, 2008, 08:31:10 AM
I've installed a physical (rather than liquid) gasket to the generator cover so I've had to change the shim thickness for the sensor. The gap is meant to be 0.6 - 0.8 mm. I can get a 0.8 feeler in there but not a 0.9 so I'm probably good. But I just wanted to check, what would be the symptoms I'd notice running the bike if the gap is indeed too big?

thx.

Weak spark or no spark.  Weak spark would show up as misfire, probably in the mid range at large throttle opening, high load.  No spark, no start.  You should be good to go though.
