So I live here in VA and we get those nice BIG orange non-removable inspection stickers which they love to place on the forks and year after year just keep on slapping a new one on top of the previous one.

In VA the inspection sticker must be on the left side of the bike. So I am trying to figure out the best way to do this. I get my Monster next week and will have to get it inspected and wondering has anyone else came up with a solution.

I looked at a inspection bracket but don't know where it would fit on the left side as well it would probably be obnoxious.

Which Monster are you getting?

I'm assuming the inspection stickers are a theft risk, and attaching them with one easily removed screw might not be such a good idea?

I am getting the 2012 1100 Evo which is pictured. And see I thought that too but I don't think folks are running around stealing inspection stickers. I think a plate would be fine.

Like I thought about if I could find a plate and round it and some how place at the top of the fork. The main thin is I dont feel like going through all the BS I did to get the sticker off my KTM's black forks.

Paint the bike orange and then the sticker will part of the styling!

A piece of thin sheet aluminum, rolled to fit snugly to the fork leg, and a couple of narrow hose clamps to hold it on.

Or perhaps with four skinny 'legs' with holes on the ends, wrapping around the leg, ends bent out a 90, with bolts and nuts to hold it on.

And I've actually seen this done with a soda can...

I think if you do it with a soda can, you need to use zipties or some rusty baling wire.

I had the same problem when I was in the Army, with the post stickers.  I put mine on a metal plate and just screwed it in behind the reflector on the handlebars (older bike.)  

all of the suggestions offered should work, additionally I would add a correctly sized piece of PVC cut slightly past halfway... shaped like a shallow 'C'... it would snap on the fork leg fairly securely.  It might stay on by itself (if the size was perfect) or you may have to use double-sided tape or zip ties to secure it if not.

Only other thing would be to mount it on the swingarm somewhere, or on the trellis.

I think I might go with the rounded aluminium. I know VA inspectors can be a pure bi**h sometimes to they might hassle me for it. We will see. I just know something has to be done.

Why cant that kind of stuff go on a licsence pate? You would think that someone running this inspection program would have thought of that already. Or there could be a small sticker for the license plate with a small print number that matches a paper document that you keep with your registration and insurance papers.

Glad I don't have to do that here. /Rant

What about putting it on that plastic shroud above the Evap canister?

Sorry..., just spotted this..., so possibly no help. Where in VA? Duc Pond, Ducati Winchester, Nathan or Donnie, have or can get those sticker plates. Donnie fitted mine just below the nose of the seat and above the exhaust on the left. You won't even have the exhaust. Not offensive..., but YMMV. Prior to that, mine had been stuck on the rear of the fork tube between the triple clamps. Was never hassled though...

In the last 9 years of living in VA, I never put the sticker on my bike.  Never got a ticket for it even though I've been pulled over for speeding and tail light location (don't ask).  I put it under the seat if I get pulled over.

DARN IT!!.

I didnt even think about this. I went ahead with the fork because all others just looked terrible that I saw. I will have him place it under the seat next year though.

I have never been pulled over myself and asked about it. I should have thought about this as an option.

I just ride solo so I removed the passenger pegs and used the top bolt to secure the sticker plate. I remember seeing another Monster where they used a hose clamp and secured the sticker plate on the first vertical bar of the frame right by the airbox. On the S2R it would be above the oil cooler area right above the Italian flag sticker on my frame.

Yeah, I understand. I put it on my forks the first time and regretted it.  It's a HUGE pain to remove those stickers too, they are designed to be scraped off -- which is just fantastic for your anodize finish.  Pro-Tip, soak it in alcohol and use a hair dryer, alternating.  It will eventually loosen and you can use denatured alcohol and your fingernails to get the residue off.

The pic above is also a good option but you can mount it UNDER the passenger peg too if you want to keep them, just need a longer bolt.
