Title: links to sponsor websites Post by: Privateer on July 20, 2008, 11:39:39 AM I've seen other forums with a small graphic/link to the sponsors home page. So if I'm on the main forum list, to the right of say motowheels sponsor forum, there's a link to the motowheels website. I would like that.

[drink] Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: herm on March 12, 2009, 06:44:00 AM it would be simple enough to put a sticky at the top of each sponsors page with a direct link to their site.
not sure i like the idea of image tags though.......gives me flashbacks to what happened on TOB Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: ducpainter on March 12, 2009, 06:53:19 AM talk to the sponsors.
or you could use the banner in the header... you all realize that's a link to their site... right? Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: DucatiBastard on March 12, 2009, 07:13:56 PM I will talk to the sponsors, I think they would like their site prominently displayed on THEIR page.
And this being the first and only site I have seen on the internet, I didn't realize the banner at the top would instantly transport me to that website...so I just have to dick around here until the banner changes to the Sponsor I want to visit? Out of 12 Major Sponsors and seven minor? yeah, thats a better idea... Elsewhere in the site it could work normally, just in the sponsors areas it would change. That way, there is no change in the overall look of the site, the banner is already there.

Without any sarcasm...Every time we customize things it screws up the next update, or requires manually updating the new updated file, so I would have to say we're not going to build that in. We came up with the individual sponsor board idea so the people involved could post what they wanted. If they don't see fit to put a link to their site , as in a stickied post so it's easy for you to get there, I guess you're not going there. Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: herm on March 14, 2009, 07:59:17 AM do i understand you that the sponsors each have MOD privileges for their boards?
if that is the case, i volunteer to go over there and ask them each to sticky a link to their web site.......... i know, i know........... [clap] Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: ducpainter on March 14, 2009, 08:58:02 AM do i understand you that the sponsors each have MOD privileges for their boards? No they don't...if that is the case, i volunteer to go over there and ask them each to sticky a link to their web site.......... i know, i know........... [clap] If they wanted a sticky link on their board it would be a simple matter to request an admin do it. Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: Statler on March 14, 2009, 04:26:51 PM I've mentioned to all of them we can sticky whatever they want for them and they can post whatever they want. Use of their space is really up to them, not us. I will mention it again to them.
another easy way to find their sites is to click on one of their profiles from a thread in their forums. They all have their websites listed in a profile. Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: mitt on June 11, 2009, 05:19:39 AM OK, as a compromise, we can create a html simple portal top block for each sponsor, on their respective board, with a big fat logo and href to their web site.
How does that sound? mitt Title: Re: links to sponsor websites Post by: mitt on June 11, 2009, 05:28:23 AM Example
