I have a 2005 620ie Monster and purchased some used Goldline Brembo front brake calipers to install on it. I have researched this subject and from what I have found is that earlier 620s had this type of caliper, but in 2005 Ducati decided to downgrade things. When I tried to install these calipers( Brembo part# 20.6713.00 and 20.6714.00) the calipers miss the fork tube mounts by about 1/4"and sit too high on the rotors! [bang] A little further research on Ducati Omaha and Desmoduck show that the rotors (300mm) are all the on 2001-2005 Monsters (except for the S2R and S4Rs) are the same so that isn't it. Could it be that the forks are different?
If anyone has successfully performed this upgrade or has any suggestions on how I can complete this upgrade please offer your advice.
you need 320mm rotors with 6 bolt pattern, either Monster 1000/900/750/800/620 of SS models and/or 998

You need a set of 320mm diameter rotors to mate with those calipers.
The Brembo snowflake rotors are about the best bang for the buck.

There were a few different offsets with either 5 or 6 bolts, too. I assume you are missing the fork mounts with the calipers to far inboard?
All the fork mounts are the same (for your purposes, there are really 3 over the years that I know of: 40mm, 65mm, and radial).

I took "too high on the rotor" to reference diameter, and "miss the mounts" as offset. It will still be fixed by replacing the rotors, just attempting to add context.
You guys are the greatest! [clap] These rotors would fix both of the issues that I have found! The larger diameter would mean that the calipers would fully contact the rotors and the 10mm offset would resolve the different between the fork mount and the caliper that I am seeing. Okay, I got the rotors on ebay. One last question on the subject. Do I need new rotor bearings and spacers to go with these rotors or do will the 2005 620ie parts still work?

The bearings are in the wheel, so no. Spacers, if any, are also the same.
The banjo bolts might not fit well onto the new calipers. Maybe ok, but not well. You master pumps a smaller volume than what is usually delivered with the new calipers. You'll have a longer lever travel than before - worst case too long.
If your master cylinder doesnt pump enough fluid for eight caliper pistons instead of four then it can make brake operation unpredictable. Forum sponsors have master cylinders available. A Goldline MC should the trick.
There are coffin masters that will run dual goldline style calipers
They look tidy and will match the other side. A better choice. You also dont have to buy a pee cup resi, bracket and hose.
IIRC, the masters that came with the 300mm rotor/ 2-piston floating caliper setups were 15mm.
Those are fine with the Goldline calipers.
If you prefer a firmer lever, 16mm diameter.
You will need a different line, as the inlet position is different between goldlines and the 2-piston.

I plan to get the proper rotor bolts that are compatible with the 320mm rotors. I have already installed S4R brake and clutch master cylinders so that area is covered. By the time that I am finished with this bike I plan to have as close to a S2R 620 (minus a single sided swing arm and side pipes) as I can. ;D
