Question: Has anyone upgraded a monster s4r to digital  dash was wondering if i could get a 1100 09 or above to work ¿ any insight would be much appreciated

If the immobilizer is working you will need to have the ECU flashed to turn it off.  Then you can use an aftermarket dash.  Second generation Monster dash?  I wouldn't state impossible since that is an absolute,  but close to impossible for sure.  ECU and wiring are completely different.

MotoGadget and AccuGauge have digital units . . . Also Koso . . .

If I'm remembering it all correctly, here's why an '09 dash won't work on an '08 & earlier:  CAN-bus communication protocol.  The '09 has it, the '08 does not.

Look to MotoGadget if you're serious.  You'll have to re-wire the power circuitry to your turn signals as the flasher unit is on the circuit board inside the O.E. gauge cluster.
