Title: Anyone have or has had the past.. Ducabike clear clutch cover?
Post by: mister704 on February 07, 2017, 10:39:41 PM
I'm thinking about installing one for the fun of it and the look but just wanted to get others views on them.

I am wanting the black case and glass cover and most likely will use a black pressure plate as well.

There is a thread on this somewhere so try the search.
It would sure make servicing easier.

I've got one on the 796... I like it.  It came with it, the original owner had it put on when he bought it, so I can't really say anything about how it goes on.  I will tell you it's a pain in the rear to add oil... the fill port on the DB cover is right under the 796's exhaust header, you have to have a long, skinny funnel to add oil.

Thanks a lot! I just found out from looking on ebay, that the clutch assembly for the 1100 Evo is black so that may change my original plans of getting black plate center ring...might go red now.

Meh, I kind of like the raw metal mechanical delight of the OEM parts on display.  I'm not a big farkle guy.

Well I like you, am not looking for bright colors. I hoped it would look like my picture I posted and I was just going to buy a black center ring.

But I found out OEM pressure plate on the 1100 Evo is not silver like the picture, its black

which means you will not really see anything moving...so unless I am planning to buy a new pressure plate (which I am not), I would have to use a different color pressure plate center ring.

Like so...

given the black 1100 uses red accents, I figured red would be the only choice really.

Just FYI, the glass cover rim is a separate piece... you can get a black cover with a red rim, etc.

I do wish my plate was black... but it's normally buried under a cover.

Yep I know. But that is then becoming too flashy. I dont have anything that red on the bike so I prefer to keep it simple. I really wanted black but can't go that route anymore.

Does the 1100evo come with a slipper clutch? If not, now would be the time to get one and they usually come in different colors.  ;)

It does have a slipper and the 1100 evo . Oil filler port is on the back of the clutch cover so see if you can get a different setup from ducabike
