Title: 2017 1200cc Monsters - Exhaust & Right Foot? Post by: NorDog on February 15, 2017, 07:12:37 PM I sat on a number of M1200 bikes tonight. I noticed that all of them really don't have room for my right foot. I can't see how I could ride such a bike without burning up the heel of my boot.

Would be good to sit on a dealer demo bike with Termis, as the demo bikes are often Termi kit equipped to lure you in.

Fixed on the R and on the new 1200 Yeah, I've read about that, and I see how the new Monsters changed the passenger peg mounts. Still, my right foot (or at least the boot heel on my right foot) bumps into the exhaust shield. I can't help but think that shield gets hotter than my boot will like. My experience, not just above the cat though, is that it takes just a tiny amount of air between pipes and shield to avoid melted boots. That has a real impact on quick directional transitions (flickability). The old 2V monsters were known for this.
