WSBK.com has very different results posted. They have them in .pdf and they don't copy/paste well.

I'm so paranoid seeing Rea right there. Didn't the Kawis dominate in PI last year?
What a race!
Rae is a beast, and Melandri is back in business on the Ducati. [popcorn]

The Aruba team bikes sound evil. [evil] (headphones of course) Better yet, go see them live this season.

The Supersport race is very worthwhile too. PJ doesn't have for shit luck.
If the rest of the season is like the first two races then we are in for a real treat this year!
Too darn bad that Honda did not improve at all this year. Hayden and Bradl are no slouches so middle and tail end of the pack can only be due to insufficient machinery.

It's a completely new blade. You can't expect them to be at the pointy end. Bradl hasn't shown anything since he won Moto2, so I would likely lower my expectations.

In Bradl's first three years in the MotoGP open class, riding a Honda, he was always a top ten finisher, usually right in the middle. Not awful by any stretch considering who the top bunch were/are. He suffered after getting dumped down to Aprilia but I think his talent is sufficient to warrant a higher finish given a halfway decent machine. Honda was promising good stuff this year & I hope they deliver.
IMHO, Bradl has had a lot of good luck, maybe not so much the past few years. He won the Moto2 championship, but only after MM got hurt. He went to LCR when the Honda was an excellent package and had some good years, but he is not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. He is like Dovi, a good teammate.
It took Ducati a few years to get the Panigali competitive. You can't expect Honda to just waltz in with a new bike and win on day one. I would recommend lowering your expectations so if they get their act together towards the end of the year you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It was entertainingly tight (guess which bikes and riders) and I started typing about good racing until the flag in Race 1.....
Not cool being a non-Duc/Kwak, but at least it was close racing :)
It seems it's a 2 horse race, but it's an improvement over last year
Rae is a machine.

For those that were not following, Chaz crashed out of race 1 on Saturday and won race 2 on Sunday. Melandri is looking great on the Duc just 10 points behind Sykes. But as DP posted above, Rea is a make the beast with two backsing machine. Are GP factory teams so focused on the kids that are coming through Moto2 and 3 that they've completely ignored Rea?

Yes.
That's why Johnny is on a Kwak.
Honda make the beast with two backsed him over by not giving him a GP ride after he did a couple of wild card rides, and performed admirably I'd say. In SBK on the Tenkate bike, which was a dog (and still is), he still won races.
I doubt he'd ever consider a Honda again.

If he were on Jack's, or Tito's, bike he'd likely win some too.
Well, he did manage to win a few on the shitty blade. It's probable that he could win on the RC213

Yup...Honda screwed up not giving him a shot in GP after his walk on fill in performances, IMO.
He would have out performed Tito, Bradl, Jack, and maybe Cal.
GP is very political, and money driven. He likely didn't have a sponsor that would put up enough cake.
MotoGP always wants to be called "diverse", even though they have a slew of Spanish and Italian riders. Jack, Bradl and Cal are tokens. Once Folger came in, they got rid of Bradl. Tito comes with money. Like you mentioned, Rea has no political capital.

You worked all your life for Sug. There's money there?
You bullshit?
It's just a question. ;D ;D
Well of course we don't have to like it. It's just the way it is. Pretty sure we can't change it, so just suck it up or stop watching. I like racing too much to stop. Not just 2 wheels, all of it, and it's all changed and will continue long after my dumb ass is gone.

Not much SBK love around here. :-\
Sykes in race 1 after Davies crashed and rejoined, and Rae had a tire deflate spitting him off. Leon Haslam in a wildcard appearance, and Alex Lowes joined him on the podium.
Rae in race 2, with Sykes, and Davies. Chaz got forced off track making an evasive maneuver around a crashing Leon Haslam.
I've done laps on Misano, during WDW, and was there for Checa's two wins in 2011 so I try to watch that race every year 8)
FP1 and FP2 two green and two red - slightly interrupted by the MV.
Despite a damaged rear tire, my laps were almost as exciting as this year's SBK ;D

Cool video. Great to see an American on the international stage. Sad Nicky is gone but this was a great choice to replace and honor him at the same time at a track that he had some great success.
Good racing in Germany this weekend.
Davies doubled and Johnny finished #2 in both races.
Too bad it's too little too late for Chaz in the championship.
Way to go Chaz! If it wasn't for the injury, he would have been in the thick of it, but Rea seems to be unstoppable this year.

True that the injury didn't help, but the races he crashed out of the lead, or from podium positions, hurt more, IMO.

Five brands in top five is good. Only exciting thing now is if/which MotoGP seat Rea might be offered... I don't suppose Davies is a candidate...

Chaz has a good chance of passing Sykes for second place in the championship. With Rea already clinching first place, I doubt he'll be too motivated to fight it out till the end.

At least Davies finished ahead of Sykes
Jerez race 2
Lots of tight racing 8) Davies was pushed out by a rider avoiding another rider - when he reentered he spread gravel over the track and was 'saved' by a red flag (in Norway we have a down-is-out rule...) Both Ducs and both Yamahas fought hard, also between team mates. Davies and Sykes are both on 363 points now.

Freaking Rea! How he hasn't been pulled into MotoGP is beyond me.

Age, nationality ?
I'm sorry, did you just say nationality? Seriously ???

It seems more sponsor friendly / usual to recruit Spanish and Italian riders....
16 MotoGP riders in the field are from neither country.

7 of top ten are. Only 1 of lowest ten. Don't you agree that it, for some reason, seems like Italian or Spanish riders are more likely to be/become winners?

It's ebbed and flowed throughout the history of the sport.

I'm not sure what Rae's contract is with Kawasaki, but they're not coming back to MotoGP anytime soon.

If they were ready, they'd have a good rider ;)

I agree Kawi will not be back to MotoGP, but Rea's domination in WSBK deserves at least a cursory call

True, but what's his contract read? Remember, you gotta bring the sponsor money with you to play chess with the big boys. ;) He might be happy dominating in WSBK, and doesn't want the ass pain. (?) Remember how it went for Spies. ;)

You'd think with his success, that sponsors wouldn't be the issue.
I have no clue what the issue is, but JR deserves a shot at GP if he still wants one since Honda boned him on that deal. It's why he's at Kwak now.

Chaz saved a highside...Jordi didn't. That had to hurt.
Rae is in a different series that must start about 20 seconds ahead of SBK.
