Title: Tank Compatabililty Chart?
Post by: mtnduc on February 27, 2017, 07:23:22 AM
02 M750ie

As work progresses while I'm awaiting new relays I decided to see how bad the dent in the gas tank was.
ANSWER:  Terminal !!
There was over 1" of putty on the right side.

I'm going to need a new/used one.
Scratches OK, minor dents maybe.

Is there a year & model gas tank compatibility chart somewhere?

TIA.

Brian

Nothing is terminal for the right guy fixing something. That said, we have a thread just for you. ;D

I may have a line on a tank for you if that's the route you decide.

I think a new tank will be cheaper than repairing this tank to a level I can accept.
I'm interested if you have a line on a tank.
Just found a 2003 M1000 on eBay with a few scratches and a small dent that may work for $225.00

That's a good price, but if it needs repair anyway, that $225 will grow. I don't know what the current market garners for dent repair and paint, but you need to consider that.

I'll ask the owner of the tank what his price is. I'm pretty sure it also has some minor damage.

Thanks let me know.
The eBay tank has one soft dent near the seat overlap area & a few scratches on the top.
