Title: M750ie Sprocket?
Post by: mtnduc on February 28, 2017, 08:05:10 AM
02 M750ie
Installing new chain & sprockets.
14/42 on it now which seems odd.
I see 15/41 is stock so maybe go to 15/43???
I've never even ridden this bike so looking for forum input.

Mostly around town & canyon riding, minimal highway use.

TIA.

Brian

If NO highway riding then you're good, that ratio gives you a little better "bottom end" for around town

Now I see why 14/42.
They don't make a 43 only 42 then 46 for this bike.
Soooo new 14/42 it is.

All sizes are available. Including 43  [thumbsup]

Avoid 14/42  :o

Agree with Lars. 14/42 is a multiple. Bad as far as wear goes. Go with a 15 front if possible.

Who is 'they'?

Monsterparts has 43's.

And like others have said, don't do a 14/42.

I've owned a couple of injected 750's.  I liked 15/43 but didn't notice much difference to 15/44 for what I did with the bikes.

Thanks Guys!
My local shop, who is very large & who I do respect, told me the only sprockets they can get are from JT who doesn't make a 43 only 44 & 46.
Guess I go to Monster Parts.

Unfortunately, the 15/43 or a 15/44 combo is not available on MonsterParts either in a 520 chain size.
I guess I'll just go with a 15/42 and be okay with that.
Thanks again.

What's available in a 14T combo?

15/42 is too close to stock, and isn't what you want according to your OP.
