Title: Front Brake Microswitch ConnectioN?
Post by: mtnduc on March 03, 2017, 02:00:41 PM

Soooo.....
The front brake microswitch is not connected.
It has Grey & Black wires
I can see two open connections on the harness which have a Purple & a Gray/w/red stripe connections open.

Can somebody tell me  what goes where?

Microswitch could be bad as well.

TIA.

Brian

97 M900

Gray to Purple/Black
Black to Red/Gray

Another easy way is...if it does not work one way; connect the opposite.  ;)

Go here:
http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do

Download the owner's manual, it'll have the wiring diagram in it.

Download the parts catalogue too while you're there.

It's a switch. It doesn't care which way the electricity flows through it. ;)

Thanks gents.
greenohawk69 -- appreciate the proper connection info
speeddog -- I did download an owners manual but it doesn't have a wiring diagram.  I'll look again.
ducpainter -- duh .. a simple switch ... I should have known better.  Thanks!

Off to find a new microswitch tomorrow.....

Make sure you don't lose the little dowel.

ahhhh ................forgot about that.
I haven't had to change one out in years on my other bikes.
That could be the whole issue.
Thanks.

Usually, someone changes a lever and doesn't realize the thing is even there.

The switch can be adjusted slightly if the dowel is there and it won't work. Loosen the two microscopic screws and move it around to see if the light comes on.
