Title: Rattle can color for engine case?
Post by: d3vi@nt on March 10, 2017, 05:25:50 PM
I'm getting a clutch slave off of a newer ST that's the gold'ish color. I'd like it to come close to matching what I have, which is the gunmetal bluish/grayish color.

Does anyone know an off the shelf paint can that comes close?

TIA

Do you have a picture of what you have? I've seen the word gunmetal used on stuff from silver/blueish tint on down to a dark smoke color.

If you are worried about heat these two products work great.

It's difficult with lighting, etc. to get a good pic of the color. Found the same issue when trying to color match the frame for some new wheels.  Here's what it looks like:

For reference, the frame is gold'ish, head is semi-gloss black, middle part of the case is silver and the outer half and slave are all the same color (even though it doesn't look it).  Kind of a dark gray with a bit of blue and bronze to it.

Probably end up taking the part to a parts store and try to match against a lid. Don't think heat will be an issue though.
