Title: Paint and Colour Question
Post by: supasye on April 23, 2017, 05:17:40 PM
Hi,

I recently purchased this Ducati 695 and there are a few scratches etc which really frustrate me. I would like to paint it the same colour but I'm not sure what colour it is exactly. I messaged colorrite and the lady got back to me saying that she didn't know. Which is fine, at least she is honest. does anyone here recognise the colour?

Also, I quite like the emblem deals on it, so I want to keep that same theme. At the moment they are just stuck onto the tank. Would it be a good idea to clear coat over them when I paint the tank? Actually I am interested in the 3D gel emblems, the only bike ive seen them on is Simon's, not sure if he clear coated over them though.

Thanks in advance.

The decals are not stock I think. So, most likely the tank has been repainted, since there is no evidence of previous logo or decals.

As for the color???? I think that bike came in Red, Black, and Matt Black? Lighter than Matt Black for sure,.....

The good news is that if your going to repaint/redecall....you can do almost anything you want  [thumbsup]

Non-standard color & non-standard badging.

Color looks close to a 2007 S4Rt dark silver.

Yep - my guess was that the PO got the seat cover, and front wheel hugger from the S4Rt and had the tank painted to match... or some similar plan.

Is this a flat gray?

Try looking for the gray color on the 2002 ST4s.  I think it is called titanium gray.

If it is not the Titanium used on quite a few models it might be a one year Monster Dark color.  IZ (IZ_ pictures, nails) had/has one.

From the owner's manual:
620 Dark
Available in the following colors:
Silver grey *0022 (PPG)

It isn't a 'silver dark'.

DD was likely closer.

Truth is no two parts are the same. ;)

Most Ducati codes are only available in what's called the PPG 'Global' paint line. Very few shops in the states mix it.

Some are available in the Autocolor line.

Be prepared for sticker shock.
