Title: S4RS Termignoni Fitment Issues Post by: SAL on May 15, 2017, 12:39:19 PM Hello Everyone:
I have an 08 S4RS with full Termi system. I bought the bike with the system already installed. The cannisters are not parallel and I have had the system on and off 3-4 times in an effort to fix the issue. I have searched the Web and have found similar complaints but no solution. Does anyone have any insight on this issue and how to resolve it. Thanks. Which is really odd, as they did a bunch of OEM parts for Ducati. My only suggestion is to start with the whole system installed, but everything loose. Begin tightening and positioning things at the cylinder heads and work your way back. Also, on those systems, the tubing loop that hangs down below the bottom of the sump routinely gets flattened on speedbumps. That might be causing or contributing to the issue. I have done as you recommend X3. The pipes and bike are like new with no damage. I have reassembled from heads back and again from cannisters forward, tightening in different sequences. No luck. I have been to a well known race exhaust fabricator. He is of the opinion that the upper pipe, attaching to the upper cannister, was either not bent correctly or was cut too long such that the two pipes leading to cannisters are wider than the corresponding inlets for the cannisters. He believes that either a wider cannister bracket assembly or shorter collector pipe is required. As I do NOT want to cut the pipe I will be looking to a machinist to fabricate a new cannister bracket that allows for an additional 1/4-3/8" of separation at the cannisters. Well see if that works. Having had MIVV, Leo VInce, Remus, Arrow, etc. exhausts in the past I have never had a fitment issue like this. Indeed discouraging. But most likely, it's as your fab guy said. Although they did chop their cans and modify the bracket to have the cans sit higher. For the life of me though I can't find it.
Title: Re: S4RS Termignoni Fitment Issues Post by: SAL on June 08, 2017, 01:52:38 PM So I had my fancy exhaust guy take approximately 1/4" off of the riser pipe leading to the upper cannister and the problem is resolved. The cannisters are aligned perfectly.
Now, to address the exhaust tips which are also not aligned. lol. Title: Re: S4RS Termignoni Fitment Issues Post by: koko64 on July 30, 2017, 02:37:40 PM We all need a friendly exhaust guy who can do fancy work. [thumbsup]

They initially welded the tab back on, then ordered a replacement case cover. Now the only issue is the top can touches the rear turn signal
