Title: Lowering the footpegs on the '01 900?
Post by: diamonddog-2 on June 28, 2017, 09:00:41 PM
Just putting this out there: The 1 thing [ok maybe the seat too] that's a little uncomfortable on the '01 is where my knees end up. Fine for "gettin' on it" around town for a bit but my knees get sore after and hour or so.....but it sure is fun getting there!   Q:  Is there a relatively simple way to lower the footpegs a bit?  I've got a 32" inseam if that makes any difference. I realize it probably gets complicated with the shifter/rear brake alignment, but figured I'd ask.

...anyway, I'll live with it if need be.

Thanks guys/gals

I put something like these on my 01 900 and they helped.

For Ducati Monster 900 /ie All Year FR CNC 25mm RD Rear Footpegs

Bear in mind that they're not ideal items, just a quick fix. You may have pedal adjustment issues.

A fully adjustable high quality set to replace the pegs and levers would be the go.

Thanks for the information. I had thought about rearsets but was told they probably weren't what I needed. Made sense when I thought about it.

So, I guess my next question would be are you aware of anybody who makes a high quality kit to lower the pegs and linkage for the bike?

Thanks mate.  Just wondering

These are quality  http://www.mfw-wolf.de/en/Vario-and-Replacement-Footpegs6?xcc75d=4q1s6kouiobppkr5vgi41o6787

I had them on my last bike.   Well made.  My problem with them was the pegs are now offset which made using the brake lever difficult.  If you are more flexible than me it may not be an issue.

32" inseam?  A taller seat might do the trick too.

The Sargent seat on my 01 900 makes a huge difference over stock or the corbin I used to have. It's a fair bit thicker than the other two and sits me up a little higher. I only have a 30" inseam and the sargent makes the difference between my knees not aching vs. aching with the stock.
