Title: Relation excenter swing and swing
Post by: greenmonster on June 30, 2017, 02:59:22 PM
Not specifically Monster related but anyway:
Manual (MTS 1100s) says:
"the axis of the wheel axle remains at all times below the axis of the eccentric hub."
What happends if axle is above axis of hub?
Dangerous, just too low rear or what?

Very low.

Besides the new ride height.... maybe swingarm/chain clearance...

Can't remember, but I think there are limits to the rotation (was it because of the caliper?)

Unfamiliar w excentrics as l am,
is there a possibility that hub can be 360 degrees wrong
in relation to wheel axle?
If so, what do you need to dismantle to rotate hub a full turn?

The most it can be off is 180 degrees, actually likely a little less.

You only need to loosen the two pinch bolts and rotate it to the correct position.

Ok.

As l thought from the start, the chain guard, mounted in hub, makes only one position possible.
Seen lotsa pics, factory and HM, axle above swing center.
Manual is WRONG.
