Title: Hello from Maine!
Post by: Geist on July 10, 2017, 08:43:44 AM
Hey there!
I'm Brian - from just outside of Portland Maine
Currently on a '01 M900
Currently swearing at a '72 CB350 Restomod
Been riding solo for two years now -- nobody else I know does.  [roll]

I work in IT but have always loved learning more about motors and am trying to break into machining.
That's about it for now but I've been lurking on the boards for a while and figured it was time to chime in. So hi! :)

 [thumbsup]

Also, make sure and post up in the NEMHA local club section to connect with more riders in the area.

Hi Herm!
I don't have anything lined up in August that I'm aware of at the moment.
(Would have to double check with my better half  [laugh] )

Is there an event or something going on?

Brian, we have had an annual get together of members and their guests (better halve, alter egos, and mortal enemies) for almost ten years now.

The event is hosted by one of the board founders at his home in NH. We camp out in his field, eat too much, drink a little  [shot], and go on a group ride on Saturday, before eating too much, drinking a little  [beer], and heading home on Sunday. There is always coffee, and usually some bacon  [bacon] involved as well.

There are a few of us who are regulars to this event, but other board members have come from as close as the next town over in NH, and as far as way as the West coast, Panama and even Australia last year.

Another member and I usually meet up in Gorham and ride over together (weather permitting.) It's about 2 hours as the crow fly's, but we usually manage to make it last all day.

Nate, you may not have noticed, but think I accurately depicted the activites.....I used two drinking emoticons and only one eating/food emoticon!

I can't remember the last time I was sober enough to ride on Saturday. I do remember the last time I rode, and I was not sober enough. I believe there's a pic somewhere. [laugh]

Thanks for the invite, but my bike won't likely be ready by then.
(Had to order a new R.H. Switch because my cable got frayed / split... still waiting on it to show up.)
