Title: Questions to those experienced wtih ECU flashing using Guzi diag/IAW writer
Post by: caperix on July 29, 2017, 05:26:36 AM
I purchased exhaust for my bike and am getting ready to attempt the reflash the ECU to DP specs.  This will be my first attempt so I am a little nervous about it.  I have successfully  read the information out of the ECU, when compared to the DP bin I found in tuner pro nothing looks out of place so I suspect I have the correct file.  So my questions are:
Battery charger; I have a 5 amp battery tender, should this be enough to keep the voltage high enough when reflashing?
Cable; If the cable read the bin correctly, am I OK in assuming that it is correct to write with out corrupting the ECU?
Fuel Trimming; I know it is a good idea to have the trim checked with the new file, and have heard it will be necessary to reset the TPS after the flash.  Will the trim data carry over and be close enough to ride the bike?  I do not have a dealer close by.
Are all 5.9M ecus the same;  At some point I plan on installing 800 cylinders and heads on my 620 and reflashing to a 800 spec.  If I change the TPS from linear to non linear can I reflash the ECU to the 800 spec?  SBK 5.9 ECUs use CAN bus data for the cluster, do all 5.9 ECUs have a can output, could this be activated or wired to allow for data logging?
Thank you for the help, I will post up how my experience goes, and thank you to the creator of Guzi diag/IAW writer for releasing such a great tool.

I'm still looking into this.  I have learned a few things.  I have 2 bikes, a 2004 monster 620ie, it has a 5am HW 103 and a 2008 848, it has a 5am HW 610.  I have heard conflicting information on if the 2 HW versions can be flashed to each other, some have said they can others have said it will damage the ECU.  So the 610 hardware supports O2 sensor, exhaust valve, CAN & idle valve.  The S2r maps I have found are 610 HW, I have not found a 800ie or a SS800 map to find out the hardware number they use.  Does anyone have a map for a monster 800ie or a SS800 that they can share or let me know the hardware number on?  I am trying to figure out if the change of TPS changed the hardware or if it was the addition of the idle valve & o2 sensor on the S2r bikes.

Not sure if these are helpful or not. They are DDG files from back in the ducatidiag days. There are s2r 800 stock and DP maps, as well as a few others. It's been years since I messed with my flash, so the knowledge has faded.

I may have found some very useful information on these ECU's today.  I tried using a program called WinOLS to view the map, and when importing the BIN from my bike it gave me a processor variant of c167cr.  Googling the information gave my some documentation that seams to make some sence, http://www.keil.com/dd/docs/datashts/infineon/c167cr_ds.pdf (http://www.keil.com/dd/docs/datashts/infineon/c167cr_ds.pdf). SuzzyJ did a great write up on disassembling these ECU's but I did not see the number on the processor to confirm.
