Title: Seals for BDST38 CARBS
Post by: koko64 on August 11, 2017, 02:52:49 AM
Anyone know where I can get the special "boot" type seals for the T piece fuel intake for the Ducati BDST38 CV carbs?
The fuel overflow has O-ring seals, but the intake has a unique set of seals specially made for Ducati which the Australian Mikuni importer says are no longer available.
Has anyone tried O-rings or know of a supplier for these seals Stateside? I am considering Powerbarn might be a chance and I have emailed them, although I have seen none listed I am hopeful they may have an O-ring that retrofits

Cheers.

The local mc shop had them in stock.  I believe they were Suzuki part.  I'll check for you.

Powerbarn promptly replied tonight. Their service is excellent and friendly, but they would have to get them from Ducati too.

Same carbs used on early 90's Yamaha TDM850 (not sure what it was called in your neighborhood).

bikebandit.com says the Yamaha part number is  3EN-14997-00-00

I'll call my friendly local Yamaha dealer with that part number. Worth a try.

I just scored 4 of these seals from my Yamaha dealer. There are also more available if customer carbs require it. This is the first case I have seen of these seals leaking where I have seen many cases on other types of carbs like FCR's..
Thanks for all your help fellas.

I've not seen any leak.

I've replaced a couple sets of very dodgy looking ones on full carb rebuilds, just for safety.
