Title: Internal black Clutch Covers (wet clutch) need removal prior to powder coating?
Post by: The ModFather on September 04, 2017, 01:39:03 PM
Powder Coating my clutch and alt covers again. I know last time I removed the internal clutch covers but I'm wondering if it really needs to be removed or not. Im referring to parts 6 & 17 below

Item 6 is rubber, so I'd remove it.

Perhaps painting would be a better plan?

My side covers are painted, normal car stuff, no high heat special stuff. The painter said she used some kind of acid to prep. Two years old now and holding up just fine. I like paint better than pc since it's not so plastic looking thick.

so after taking these out the outter rubber cover appears to have some light damage. It almost looks melted. Anyone ever see this?
