Title: Fuel sending unit nut.
Post by: bdfinally on October 20, 2017, 10:41:50 AM
Getting a local to take a shot at fixing a fuel tank hinge leak. How much should I worry about leaving the sending unit in the tank? It's an 00 M750.

Thanks in advance.

They're north of $180 new.

That nut is huge. No open/box end big enough. My largest crescent was just a bit too small. Dug out my oldest tool, a 29/22mm flat Yamaha wrench from 1975 & still too small. Vice grips to the rescue. That gasket inside good for more than one crank down on it?

Water pump pliers, or Channelocks, have always been my choice...
