Thaty's a big project.

Do you have the motor already?

Monster Testastretta and Superbike Testastretta motors are different.

This modification has been discussed. Maybe a search will bring results. Besides 998, I'd try 999, S4RS, 1098, frame, cross members as search words.

About the frame: there are cross members across the main side tubes that will have to be moved/removed to make room for the throttle housing.

You'll probably also need a more or less complete electric system, ECU, exhaust, fuel tank. For that kind of power it would be safer to have top quality brakes and suspension as well.

....... we're quite close to buying a complete bike  [coffee]

Search "cross member frame throttle" - a handful of threads on the topic  [thumbsup]

Buy an S4Rs or an S4Rt. They have the 998 motor already installed and you'll spend less $$$.

Ok, just so everyone knows where I'm coming from:

2000 frame had 10mm mounting bolts and the 998 are 12.

The swingarm support/pivot area and swingarm bearing issues.

Frame cross members are all wrong, lots of re-work/welding.

No radiator mounts on '00 900 frame.

S4Rs frame is stronger to handle the motor output.

You'll end up buying a lot of S4Rs parts to make it all work anyways.

Entire wiring harness, gauges & ecu won't work.

question, is your current bike a 10mm or 12mm engine bolt frame?

if it is a 10mm . . .  you might/will need to fab bushes that bring the 12mm mounts to 10mm . . . then comes the part of the frame's "cross brace" at the TB area . . .  then the issue of tank clearance  . . . radiator mounts. . . then, are you stay DSS or go SSS? . . . totally new wiring harness . . . reflashed ECU or better said "new/old" ECU, maybe reflashed for your tunning needs(do not forget dash so that it matches engine) . . . then DMV . . . you WILL NEED to upgrade/update your suspension for said beast since the OEM one might NOT handle the added power/torque you gonna have . . .

NOT wanting to bring you down . . . just stating some  "small" issues you migth encounter .  .  .

Thank all of you guys for the input,
I have a S4RS engine already complete with everything that necessary from radiators to instrument cluster. :)
The have been thinking about trading it for a S4 preferably a 996 but there is not that many available in Sweden. :(
There is easier to get a S4R but then I have to change the swingarm since I have a serious allergy against single sided swingarms.
Any way I have decided to put the conversion on hold for a while, maybe I try to get hold of a S4 for the engine instead. :-\

Any 4V motor in an early 2V frame will pose the same issues. The cross member will be in the way of the throttle bodies.

if i were to chime in, go for a 2v 1000ss ie motor, 12mm engine bolt, sleeve them. can fit the throttle body's, will have to shave off tabs, higher end, better cams, easier build. I have already stuffed and 01900ssie motoer into a 96 carby frame, not a big task, just need a motor, wire harness from m900ie (not an easy find) and an ie tank ( not an easy find)

There is a bike for sale here in Aus which has this mod (or similar). Search bike sales.com.au under S4RS and it comes up. You might be able to reach out to the owner and ask for advice.
