Title: Belt Tensioner Sets Post by: motoyoyo on December 10, 2017, 09:15:29 AM I was looking for replacement belt tensioner bearings and pulleys recently and did not find any useful current information on any of the Ducati forums about replacement alternatives. It has been a given for the life of these older Monsters that OEM was the only available choice. I looked up the current prices at around $145 each for the fixed pulleys, 45110251a, and $25 each for the adjustale tensioner bearings, 45120201a. This would be around $390 for the full set of OEM parts.
I found an German company that sells aftermarket parts for all Italian bikes, marrocco4speed.de/ . They also sell their parts on ebay, which is where I purchased my full set of tensioner pulleys and bearings. The current price is only $129 for the full set of parts. As far as I can tell, these are from the actual OEM supplier as well and should be of top quality. At any rate, I am giving them a try and thought I would pass on this information as an alternative to the expensive OEM parts. Lots of service parts.
Good find. Title: Re: Belt Tensioner Sets Post by: motoyoyo on December 10, 2017, 05:26:31 PM Yes, pretty specific to tuneup wear parts. I was mainly happy to see the pulleys, since they keep getting pricier through Ducati. Hope this helps others. I'll post back if I run into any problems with the parts, but don't expect to.

Title: Re: Belt Tensioner Sets Post by: BK_856er on December 11, 2017, 12:38:48 AM The bearings on the bolts are Flennor brand, but the others are marked SKF. Is Flennor an OEM?

Title: Re: Belt Tensioner Sets Post by: BK_856er on December 11, 2017, 09:42:54 AM Good to know. In some of the other images the bearings are laser engraved with the Flennor name, so more than just a distributor. Let us know how you like them. Big $$ savings for sure!

They may have some part numbers mixed up. According to their website, this part is for the S2R800 but not the S2R1000. However, according to the Ducati OEM parts fiche, both the S2R800 and 1000 use the same part, OEM# 451.2.020.1A
The 695 and others listed for this part take an OEM# 451.2.017.1A They have something wrong with their cross referenced parts. Apparently the part shown does not appy to the S2R800 or the S2R1000, and I don't see any other options for the complete adjustable assembly. Hopefully the bearing set I ordered for my S2R1000 (shown in first picture) will fit. I'll update if they work out after I get the parts. |
