Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: koko64 on January 15, 2018, 10:47:32 AM More power [evil]
Title: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: GK on January 15, 2018, 02:06:55 PM As soon as I saw your comment about more power, I thought, ‘even less control and more tyre shredding’ but the article was clear in relaying that the power is more controllable, which is great news. 👍🏻👍🏻
Jorge is very positive about this season too. I hope he’s had a cracker of an off season. 👍🏻👍🏻 Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: lazylightnin717 on January 15, 2018, 04:36:29 PM I’m really looking forward to this year. That bike looks sweet. Dovi has a whole head of steam going into this year and Jorge has a great attitude considering his rough ride last year.
I can’t wait to get more info on these more power shenanigans [evil] Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: Speeddog on January 15, 2018, 05:02:41 PM Ducati personnel have been known to make , ah, misleading statements from time to time.

The magic unibrow has been successful at building a competitive bike, but up to now, it has been a pain to ride. Jorghey on occasion burned some bridges last year. If I were him, I would be playing very nice. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: bdfinally on January 16, 2018, 08:34:51 AM A&R has HD pics up.

Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: Speeddog on January 16, 2018, 12:57:16 PM AFAIK, it's his daughter.

Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: OT on January 17, 2018, 05:55:28 PM What are the colored buttons on the LHS for? Missles, smoke screen, oil slick? Q Branch would be proud [drink]

Q Branch would be proud [drink] All of those, and mapping. [thumbsup]Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: bdfinally on January 19, 2018, 07:37:53 AM Suggested mapping, right?
Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: ducpainter on January 19, 2018, 08:31:31 AM Suggested mapping, right? Suggested, only if your name is George. If you're a team member it's the one you use.Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: bdfinally on January 22, 2018, 12:35:47 PM Anyone know what the metal thumb "doodad" directly below the off button is. I know the rear thumb brake is on the other handlebar.

I know the rear thumb brake is on the other handlebar. It's a neutral lockout, sequential transmissions have neutral at the bottom. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: ducpainter on January 22, 2018, 04:09:53 PM It's a neutral lockout, sequential transmissions have neutral at the bottom. I want one of those... ;DTitle: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: Speeddog on January 22, 2018, 04:18:10 PM The KD90 that I learned to ride on had neutral at the bottom.
All good until I went for one downshift too many. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: duccarlos on January 22, 2018, 04:25:36 PM The KD90 that I learned to ride on had neutral at the bottom. All good until I went for one downshift too many. I can't picture how that works. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: NAKID on January 22, 2018, 07:10:48 PM Why are there 2 reservoirs on the clutch side?
Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: Speeddog on January 22, 2018, 07:55:28 PM I can't picture how that works. They just 'swap' the 1st and Neutral groove profiles on the shift drum. Why are there 2 reservoirs on the clutch side? One for clutch, one for rear thumb brake. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: bdfinally on January 22, 2018, 08:26:06 PM It's a neutral lockout, sequential transmissions have neutral at the bottom. So they roll up to the grid, once the flagman comes off the track you put it in gear, lights come on and press the lockout? Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: ducpainter on January 23, 2018, 04:57:57 AM The KD90 that I learned to ride on had neutral at the bottom. Weren't they 3 speeds? All good until I went for one downshift too many. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: Speeddog on January 23, 2018, 08:03:06 AM Weren't they 3 speeds? Mine was a '74, and was 5 speed. So they roll up to the grid, once the flagman comes off the track you put it in gear, lights come on and press the lockout? AFAIK, pushing the lever allows for shifting from 1st to neutral. Otherwise the same rider interface as a conventional transmission as far as shifting goes. Title: Re: Ducati GP18 Livery Post by: bdfinally on January 23, 2018, 11:13:07 AM Appears so
